Gourds and Fiber

Lona Slivkoff will be demonstrating how to make two- or three-strand cordage from natural materials that can be used to embellish or weave on a gourd. She will bring enough materials for the group to make some too.  She will discuss various materials, their origins, their cultural applications, and their preparation methods. She will present examples of cords made with various materials.
