Instructor: Claudia Herber Backdoor Studio Current Gallery 532 NE 3rd St, McMinnville, OR 97128 October 20, 2021 9 to 4 Supply list This project requires a cleaned gourd cut into a bowl shape. Once you have cleaned out inside, paint or spray it black. You may choose any size gourd for this project. For best results, gourd should not be smaller than 5” in diameter. If you don’t have one, you can purchase a cleaned, cut gourd from instructor on the day of the class for $10 to $15. Mask Apron Pencil Carver, Dremel* or any rotary carver with all your burrs Wood burner (optional) Favorite ‘fall’ color ink dyes Q tips Makeup pads or sponges Black acrylic marker, .07 tip, (I like POSCA brand, Sharpie makes one also.). This will be used for outlining if you choose not to wood burn. Lunch If you are using a Dremel, I would ask that you use a “flex shaft” with a stand to hang your Dremel motor on. These are available locally at Lowe’s and Home Depot and sometimes, Harbor Freight. You can go online to Amazon also. Directions to make a stand from simple parts you can purchase at the hardware store are available. Note: All Covid precautions will be in place. Everyone attending needs to be vaccinated. As of this writing, we will all wear our face coverings in the class room when we are not wearing our dust masks.
